The Old Dragon is the one everyone defers to, even The Kingpin, and he wears his nudity the way emperors wear robes, as a statement that he has nothing left to prove and nothing left to hide. He fought in wars the others only inherited as legend, and he outlived them all, which is its own kind of victory and its own kind of sentence. Age did not make him bitter. It made him vast and calm, a warrior who has seen every ending and stopped fearing any of them. He rarely speaks. When he does the whole dojo leans in, because a dragon that old does not waste breath. He is not waiting for a war anymore. He is the war, retired, and content, at last, to simply be the oldest thing in the room. He has more discipline than the entire dojo combined and spends all of it on sitting perfectly still, perfectly nude, perfectly at peace, which the young ones find either enlightened or deeply unhelpful.
