📖 Fever Azuma's Story

Another Azuma, another east, but Fever Azuma's rising sun never cools to daylight; it just keeps climbing until everything shimmers. He runs hot, always did, a fighter whose intensity crossed over into something close to delirium, burning brighter than was strictly survivable and somehow surviving anyway. In the wars a man on fire is terrifying and useful in roughly equal measure, and Azuma was both. When the wars ended, the fever had nothing left to burn, so it turned inward and lit up everything else instead: every drink too many, every bet too big, every night stretched past the point of sense. Fever Azuma does not know a low setting. He knows blaze and he knows ash. The dojo keeps water nearby, metaphorically, and has learned to enjoy the heat while it lasts. He has no low setting and therefore no discipline; he trains until he collapses or he does not train at all, and it is almost always the second one.
