They called him Akuma in the war because his blade never asked permission and his silence unsettled generals twice his rank, and he wore that name like armor long after the wars forgot what they were fighting for. The fortune his family bled centuries to build he laid down in one breath at the local shrine, betting it on a dice roll dressed up as fate, and watched the priests' faces curdle as the koi in the pond kept swimming like nothing sacred had just been gutted. He tells himself discipline is a debt he'll repay someday, maybe tomorrow, maybe after this next bet, and every time he reaches for the old samurai stillness his hands find a cup of sake or a pair of dice instead. There is something almost holy in how thoroughly he ruined himself, a demon's punchline written across a shrine's ledger, and he grins at the ruin because grinning is cheaper than grieving. Truly free now, he says, and means it the way a man means anything while falling, which is to say completely, and without a single plan for landing.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Bright but not loud. The Teal Daytime fighters are the ones you underestimate because they don't announce their arrival.

'Akuma' means devil, a name he didn't choose. The survivors needed a word bigger than soldier for what he did on the field, and it stuck.
Authority through opacity. The Dark Spectacles fighters reveal nothing through their eyes and receive everything through them.
Elevated tradition. The High Straw Rice Hat fighters dress high above their own heads — everything they do is reaching upward.
Precious redirection. The Golden Sai fighters catch what's thrown at them and return it changed — in gold.
