Diary
Ikari once carved his name into legend with a blade steady as a held breath, but there is no war left to hold that breath for, only the dojo latrines and a gaggle of courtesans who smelled blood in the water the moment his composure cracked. He'd told himself he could handle the teasing, arms crossed, jaw tight, the vein at his temple already announcing war before a single word was thrown, but he overestimated himself the way a gambler overestimates a pair of twos. "Anger is a stone thrown into a wasp's nest," his old sensei used to say, and Ikari proved it true by turning a simple bathroom heckling into a shouting match he could not win, could not even properly aim. He found the whole affair thoroughly uninspiring, the courtesans laughing louder than any battlefield cry he'd ever answered, and he stormed out vowing discipline he would abandon by sundown over a bottle of sake and a fresh grudge. Some men chase enlightenment; Ikari just chases the last person who wronged him, vein throbbing, dignity rugged, breath still held for a war that already ended.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Bright but not loud. The Teal Daytime fighters are the ones you underestimate because they don't announce their arrival.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Not a garment — a record. The Battle Scars clothing is what's left after everything else was stripped away. These fighters wear their history.
'Ikari' means anger — and here it's not a description, it's the whole man. He doesn't perform rage; he simply is it, structured, purposeful, and permanent.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Crow spirit, long nose, ancient power. The Tengu Mask fighters are wearing something that predates the Dojo — something older that chose to be here.
The poisonous pufferfish as a weapon. The Frightened Fugu fighters chose something lethal that looks absurd — and find that this is the most accurate description of themselves.
