Diary
At Fushimi shrine, beneath a thousand vermillion gates that seemed to mock him with their perfect, disciplined rows, Angry Ikari finally found a ninja worth breaking his arm on, and he has not stopped grinning since the bone snapped like a bad limit order. The vein on his temple pulsed with something almost like gratitude, because for one glorious moment there was an enemy in front of him instead of the empty, floorless void he usually swings at. He used to quote old masters about anger being a wind that blows out the lamp of the mind, and then he'd quote himself right back, screaming that the lamp was overrated anyway and darkness hits different. He tried, as always, to breathe through it the way the old dojo taught, four counts in, four counts out, but by count two he was already flipping a table over the injustice of having to count at all. Doctors said the arm would heal in six weeks; Ikari said he'd be back sparring shrine ninjas in three, discipline be damned, rage eternal, floor never found.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Hidden in plain sight. The Night Forest fighters do most of their work in the dark — not secretively, but quietly. They don't need an audience.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The red Oni rages where the blue Oni waits. The Red Oni Tattoo fighters run hot and they are at peace with this.
'Ikari' means anger — and here it's not a description, it's the whole man. He doesn't perform rage; he simply is it, structured, purposeful, and permanent.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Named for what grew. The Wise Greatness fighters became something across time that couldn't be rushed and didn't try to be.
Musical instrument. Strung instrument. The Shamisen fighters understand that performance and violence are not opposites — they are the same act in different registers.
