Once he was a blade for hire whose contracts closed clean, no loose ends, no witnesses left breathing to complain about terms, but degen life has a way of rugging even an assassin's boundaries when the sake floor keeps dropping and nobody's minding the exits. He said nothing that night, only marked the ledger the way he marks everything, patient, unfinished, waiting for the interest to compound. Discipline told him to walk away from Legless Tom's grey-mist table forever; the ache in him, the old soldier's hunger for company even bad company, dragged him back within the week, cup already poured. He knows better now, the way a man knows a bridge is out only after he's already halfway across it, quiet as ever, still patient, still keeping the contract open.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
