Up on the palace roof at Kyoto, Haru once stood behind his master with a blade meant for guarding, and instead let it slip into betrayal, and every koban he owned scattered off the tiles like startled sparrows the very same week. He tells it now with a grin so wide you'd think he was describing a lucky pull at the tables instead of the night his honor rugged itself. Every morning he swears today's the day he wakes at dawn, meditates like the old dojo masters, maybe even pays back what he owes the ghosts of his old house, and every morning he's back asleep by sunrise with a half-finished joint still smoldering in the ashtray. Ask him how he's doing and he'll tell you floor's in, gains incoming, brighter days just past the next bad hand, because underneath that grin is a man still standing on that rooftop, still choosing, still telling himself the fall hasn't finished yet. Cheery Haru isn't lying when he says better days are coming, he's just the only one who still believes the math works out.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
