Diary
Under the sakura at Ueno, petals falling like the world's laziest confetti, Drooling Azuma decided his own mouth owed him a debt and collected it himself, yanking tooth after tooth bare-handed while the Dojo watched in horrified reverence. He used to feed that same appetite to war, to duty, to the long disciplined silence of a blade drawn correctly, but the wars dried up and left him a hunger with nowhere to march, so now he apes into anything loud enough to fill the space, degen plays, all-you-can-eat gambles, bets he has no business making. Blood ran pink into the fallen blossoms and somehow that was the most disciplined thing he'd done in a decade, a grotesque echo of the focus he swears he's rebuilding every single morning before rugging his own resolve by noon. The Dojo, sick and awed in equal measure, named him legend on the spot, because respect around here is earned less by restraint than by watching a man happily dismantle himself for no reward at all. Azuma just grinned his new gap-toothed grin, greedy for the next thing, already forgetting the vow he made an hour ago to finally, finally slow down.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Hidden in plain sight. The Night Forest fighters do most of their work in the dark — not secretively, but quietly. They don't need an audience.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Not quite there yet. The Warlock Wannabe fighters are in the process of becoming something more — and the gap between aspiration and arrival is where they live.
'Azuma' — east, the rising sun. Once a warrior whose hunger for the fight rose every morning: first over the wall, last off the field. Peacetime left the hunger nowhere to go.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Golden cone hat of the sea. The Golden Kasa Fisherman fighters came from somewhere patient and arrived with that patience intact.
A rat. Named. With opinions. Mr. Rumi The Rat is a familiar, a co-combatant, and probably the one with the plan. The fighter is the muscle.
