Drooling Azuma once carried a blade with the quiet hunger of a man who fed on discipline alone, but when the wars dried up that hunger just moved south, straight into his stomach, and now he apes into every food stall like it's a hundred-x gem. At the Tsukiji market he saw a mountain of grilled skewers and roared in like he was charging an enemy camp, mouth open, dignity already dead, and the gulls saw an easy mark. They swarmed him beak-first, stripped him of his skewers, his topknot, and whatever scraps of samurai pride he had left, leaving him flailing in the fish guts while old vendors laughed themselves into a coughing fit. He still tells anyone who'll listen that he was
Whose bones? The fighter who wears them knows. They're not saying. The Finger Bones fighters operate on a level of commitment that most find uncomfortable.
