Diary
Fatty Bobsticks will tell you, loudly and often, that he is nothing like Fat Bob, that he is his own katana entirely, thank you very much, and then in the same breath he will tell you the story of Edo palace like it proves it, when really it proves the opposite. He marched in for his shot at glory, chest out, topknot oiled, ready to be knighted into legend, and got groped by some palace official with wandering hands and zero respect for a man's personal space or his career arc. He screamed, he swung, he missed, and by sundown the guards had thrown him out with a boot print where his dignity used to be. Now he stands on the street corner selling himself for coin, striking the same noble poses that once impressed shoguns, insisting to anyone who'll listen that this is strategy, not decline, that Fat Bob never had the range for street theater like this. Every morning he vows to find real discipline again, and every morning discipline takes one look at him, laughs, and goes back inside where it's warm.
A paper earring from the Dojo itself. Fragile. Replaceable. The fighters who wear them understand that what looks disposable can last forever.
Royalty that refused the crown. The Purple Night backgrounds belong to fighters who could have been somewhere easier and chose not to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
It's been that kind of day. The Bloody Mess clothing doesn't mean the fighter lost — it means they were in it deep enough that cleanliness became irrelevant.
He exists in Fat Bob's extended universe — related, distinct, and absolutely exhausted by the comparison. Same build, same laugh, different problems. Do not, he begs you, get them confused.
Authority through opacity. The Dark Spectacles fighters reveal nothing through their eyes and receive everything through them.
Focus made visible. The Karate Headband fighters bound their intention around their skull so it couldn't escape during the fight.
Musical instrument. Strung instrument. The Shamisen fighters understand that performance and violence are not opposites — they are the same act in different registers.
