Igor The Bear does not rush a bowl of noodles, not now, not ever, not even when the grey mists roll thick off the mountain and cool the broth before he's through his first slurp. Somewhere between the fourth and fortieth noodle he feels the clink against his molar, spits it into his palm, and there they sit: coins, dull and half buried in miso, like the dojo itself trying to tip him a retirement fund. He turns them over with the same unhurried patience he once gave a blade, thinking of the discipline he used to carry like armor, before the wars ended and the armor rusted into a belly and a thirst. Igor does not chase pumps, does not check the floor, does not ape into anything faster than his own considerable mass allows, so he simply sits there in the fog, chewing slow, wondering what future a bear this heavy could possibly outrun into. He decides, as he decides most things, by finishing the bowl first and worrying second, which is either wisdom or the same old losing fight against himself, warm under all that weight either way.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Neither dark nor white. The Light Grey background belongs to fighters who operate in the space between certainties and have made it comfortable there.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Still learning. The Student Gi fighters are the most dangerous in the Dojo — they have no habits yet, no fixed patterns, no ceiling.
Built like a landslide — weight, physical and otherwise, the kind that can't be lifted, only rolled. In the wars you pointed him at a problem; now the stillness is the problem.
The disguise is the identity. The Degen Superhero glasses fighters have a secret — or maybe the secret is that there's no secret and they've always been exactly this.
Architecture on the scalp. Each knot a decision. The Black Bantu Knots fighters make their choices visible at the top, where everyone can see.
