Diary
They say Junichiro Kurotaki died once, quietly, on a training mat outside Kyoto, and whoever walked off that mat afterward just borrowed his face. That version of him kept a strict dojo calendar and a stricter god; this one keeps a lighter and a half-finished blunt tucked behind his ear like a second sword. On sparring day, the day discipline was supposed to be proven in front of the old masters, he lit up instead, exhaled toward the heavens, and simply let his faith drift off with the smoke, unbothered, like discarding a rusted floor price for something with better upside. His sensei called it a fall from grace; Junichiro calls it a rebirth with better vibes, and swears the second version of himself never lies, mostly because he can no longer remember what the first one believed. He still shows up to train, technically, bowing to the shrine before wandering off to nap through the actual lesson, insisting that true discipline is knowing which battles aren't worth fighting sober.'
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Unclear until it clears. The Grey Mist backgrounds belong to fighters who operate where others can't see, and use that fog as their advantage.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Kept from the harvest. The Dried Straw fighters dress in what's left after everything useful has been taken — and have discovered this is plenty.
He walked into something that should have ended him and walked back out with the same name and none of the same conditions. Nobody agrees what happened out there, and he's in no hurry to explain.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Movement made permanent. The Long Flowing fighters trail behind themselves in every room they enter — the hair arrives first, then the fighter.
A live chicken. As a weapon. The Chicken fighters have committed to an approach that nobody expected and found that unexpectedness is half the battle.
