Diary
Yuuki knelt on the tatami the way his old sensei taught him, spine straight, breath even, and peeled off his robe like it was ceremonial armor instead of a hoodie that smelled faintly of gas station taquitos. He murmured a prayer that once meant something about honor and clean blades, though these days it mostly translated to please let this be the week discipline actually floors and doesn't rug me again. There was real courage in him still, the kind that once held a line against real enemies, now aimed with the same steady calm at things like waking before noon and not aping into whatever token his degen brothers were yelling about in the group chat. He stood there bare and resolute, a warrior recommitting to bushido one lint-covered tatami mat at a time, vowing that today would be the day he finally beat the vice back into its box. By sundown he'd broken the vow twice, lost a small bet on a cockfight that didn't exist, and smoked enough weed to forget the vow was ever made, yet somehow he still felt, quietly and stupidly, like a man on the verge of becoming better.'
Worn as trophy or warning — nobody is quite sure which. The Chicken Bones fighters have a ceremony for everything and share it with no one.
Neither dark nor white. The Light Grey background belongs to fighters who operate in the space between certainties and have made it comfortable there.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Still learning. The Student Gi fighters are the most dangerous in the Dojo — they have no habits yet, no fixed patterns, no ceiling.
'Yuuki' means courage, earned the plain way: by stepping forward on the mornings every sane part of him voted to step back. Bravery, for him, was a decision made fresh each day.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Named for the legendary fighter. The Red Heihachi fighters carry that name's weight in every match and find it light.
Heavy, ceramic, purpose-built for one thing and used for another. The Giant Sake Bottle fighters are creative about their arsenal.
