The Bearded Bandit never meant to become a gardener, but some rugged elder at the dojo pointed at the cherry trees and said discipline starts with small cuts, so there he was at 3am under Kyoto moonlight, shears in his fists like they owed him money. Somewhere around the four hundredth blossom he snapped, not sad-snapped but feral-snapped, howling at bark and branch like the trees had rugged his last bag. The other degens found him at dawn, petals everywhere, shears bent, grinning like a man who'd just aped into the one position that actually printed. He calls it his awakening now, says patience was never the plan, chaos was just patience wearing a disguise, and somehow the garden looks better shredded than it ever did trimmed straight. He still guards those broken trees like family, feral and loyal both, because a beast who finally found a floor to stand on doesn't let anyone touch it, not even himself.
The teachers. Six fighters hold the plain Sensei race — masters who lead from the floor rather than the frame, and pass on what they know by example.
Left to fend for himself as a child, he found his home in the Dojo — but a loveless start makes an unpredictable beast, and he never quite lost the wildness that kept him alive.
