Diary
Ikari's vein pulses like a war drum before he's even finished the sentence: someone rugged his katana while he was on his knees trimming cherry blossoms off the tatami, an act of peace he now regrets to the marrow. He remembers a Zen master's line about anger being a stone thrown at a wasp's nest, and he mutters it through his teeth even as he flips the porch furniture looking for the thief who was never there. There was a season, not long ago, simpler and cleaner, when his only enemy was the dog's mess in the courtyard and his only weapon a shovel, and by the gods he was disciplined then, up before dawn, back straight, mind quiet. Now he apes into a new bokken every week from some floor-price blacksmith on the corner, swears each one will be the last impulsive buy, and each one gets neglected in a corner like the last, dulling with the rest of his temper. He breathes in, breathes out, tells himself calm is a warrior's true blade, then kicks over a flowerpot anyway, cherry blossoms scattering like confetti at the world's worst parade.
A paper earring from the Dojo itself. Fragile. Replaceable. The fighters who wear them understand that what looks disposable can last forever.
Unclear until it clears. The Grey Mist backgrounds belong to fighters who operate where others can't see, and use that fog as their advantage.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Wealth made garment. The Money Kimono fighters wear their wins literally — the fabric is a record, not a boast.
'Ikari' means anger — and here it's not a description, it's the whole man. He doesn't perform rage; he simply is it, structured, purposeful, and permanent.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Broad shade, broad vision. The Wide Kasa Fisherman fighters cover more ground with their hat than most cover with their plans.
Organization-issue. The Yakuza Club fighters have backup in the weight of the weapon itself — it carries institutional authority.
