Diary
Angry Ikari once split skulls for a shogun who never once said thank you, and now he grinds his molars in an alley trying to help an old woman carry groceries she never asked him to carry. The vein in his temple throbs like a war drum as three teeth skitter across the pavement, knocked loose not by an enemy blade but by his own fist swinging wild at a mugger who was, in fairness, already running away. He spits blood and a molar into his palm and roars at the sky, "Anger is a stone thrown into a wasp's nest," quoting some dead monk he half remembers, then immediately contradicts him by kicking a dumpster hard enough to dent it. His floor is rock bottom, his bags are rugged, his portfolio of good deeds keeps getting liquidated by his own temper, yet he still shows up every dawn swearing today's the day he apes into patience instead of rage. He limps home missing teeth, gums throbbing, jaw set, muttering that better days are coming, daring them to disagree with him.
A paper earring from the Dojo itself. Fragile. Replaceable. The fighters who wear them understand that what looks disposable can last forever.
Unclear until it clears. The Grey Mist backgrounds belong to fighters who operate where others can't see, and use that fog as their advantage.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Named for what it abandoned. The No Honor Kimono fighters gave up on the codes others follow and found that this freed them completely.
'Ikari' means anger — and here it's not a description, it's the whole man. He doesn't perform rage; he simply is it, structured, purposeful, and permanent.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Named for the legendary fighter. The Red Heihachi fighters carry that name's weight in every match and find it light.
A live chicken. As a weapon. The Chicken fighters have committed to an approach that nobody expected and found that unexpectedness is half the battle.
