Diary
Ikari once meditated under waterfalls until his knuckles bled discipline into the stone, but the wars ended and left him nothing to point his blade at except himself, so now the vein in his forehead just throbs at traffic lights and vending machines. On the crowded street in Shinjuku he had told himself, just one more minute of chaos before the calm, and while he was busy losing a fistfight with his own body some quiet-fingered rat aped straight into his pocket and rugged him clean, wallet gone, dignity somewhere on the pavement next to a dropped can of chuhai. He roared loud enough to scatter pigeons, screaming that anger is a fire that should forge a warrior, not burn down his own coin purse, quoting some old master he barely remembers while flipping off a stranger who definitely didn't do anything. His floor price for shame has never recovered, and every night he swears an oath of restraint that lasts exactly until the next crowded sidewalk. He knows better now, he says, jaw tight, vein pulsing, already reaching for his belt again out of pure furious habit.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Hidden in plain sight. The Night Forest fighters do most of their work in the dark — not secretively, but quietly. They don't need an audience.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The standard-bearer. The Proud Dejen Kimono fighters represent the collection consciously — they know what they're part of and they dress accordingly.
'Ikari' means anger — and here it's not a description, it's the whole man. He doesn't perform rage; he simply is it, structured, purposeful, and permanent.
The world through affection. The Loveheart Shades fighters see everything as worth caring about — and have found this is more effective than the alternative.
Nothing hidden. No armor above the neck. The Bald fighters face everything without cover and consider this the only honest approach.
Musical instrument. Strung instrument. The Shamisen fighters understand that performance and violence are not opposites — they are the same act in different registers.
