Diary
Ikari once swore an oath that no blade would ever find him unguarded, and yet there he was at sunrise, curled among a herd of goats like some fallen ronin lullabied by livestock, and someone walked off with his coin purse while he snored. The vein in his temple has not gone flat since. 'Anger is a stone thrown into a wasp's nest,' his old sensei used to say, meaning patience, meaning restraint, and Ikari has spent seven sleepless nights proving he heard none of it, pacing the dojo floor muttering threats to goats who cannot understand him and thieves who are long gone. He tried the breathing exercises, the counting to ten, the whole reclaimed-discipline routine, but by four he's white-knuckling a stick like it owes him yield. Somewhere a goat is still chewing his coin purse's leather strap, blissfully unaware it is the last living witness to the fall of a warrior who cannot, for the life of him, stop being furious at literally everyone including the animals.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Lived-in color. The Warm Grey background belongs to fighters who have been through enough that their edges have softened without their core changing.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Named for what it abandoned. The No Honor Kimono fighters gave up on the codes others follow and found that this freed them completely.
'Ikari' means anger — and here it's not a description, it's the whole man. He doesn't perform rage; he simply is it, structured, purposeful, and permanent.
Traditional, ornamented. The Shoji Tassel Glasses fighters dress their perception in ceremony — seeing is a ritual for them, not a reflex.
Nothing hidden. No armor above the neck. The Bald fighters face everything without cover and consider this the only honest approach.
Heavy, ceramic, purpose-built for one thing and used for another. The Giant Sake Bottle fighters are creative about their arsenal.
