Ikari went to Okiyo to soak, because even a man built entirely of clenched jaw needs a hot spring once in a while, and the ryokan brochure had promised serenity it clearly never intended to deliver. He didn't notice the snakes until one draped itself across his shoulder like a scaly little floor sweep taking its rent early, and the vein in his temple did its usual pre-eruption throb before his whole body remembered every war it had ever survived. "Anger is a wind which blows out the lamp of the mind," some old master once said, and Ikari has never once managed to not relight that lamp with gasoline. He screamed the spring dry, sent three snakes into next season's mythology, and told the ryokan owner he wanted a discount for emotional damages, which is somehow worse discipline than the samurai who raised him ever imagined a warrior could show. He knows better now, he says, gripping his sake cup so tight it nearly folds, still furious that nothing in this godless degen afterlife has bothered to properly apologize to him yet.
One tooth. The whole shark is implied. The Shark Tooth fighters don't need to explain what they've overcome — they wear the evidence.
Lived-in color. The Warm Grey background belongs to fighters who have been through enough that their edges have softened without their core changing.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Traditional footwear made into a statement. The Strap On Geta fighters move in a way that makes noise — deliberate, rhythmic, impossible to miss.
'Ikari' means anger — and here it's not a description, it's the whole man. He doesn't perform rage; he simply is it, structured, purposeful, and permanent.
Long range. The Telescopic Glasses fighters are already looking at what comes next while everyone else is still processing now.
Clean but rough. The White Ruffian fighters look like they could have behaved properly and chose not to. The white makes the choice more visible.
