The sun over Kyoto hung like a struck gong, and Angry Ikari sat sweating on a temple step trying to remember the breathing technique his old sensei swore would tame the storm behind his ribs. A crow landed near his onigiri, then another, then a screeching parliament of them descended like the universe itself had rugged his lunch, and something in him that used to be discipline simply floor'd out beneath his feet.
