Haru tells it like a beach-day highlight reel, laughing about the day he sprinted barefoot across the sand chasing his mistress while the tide clapped along like it approved, grinning so wide you'd think a man doesn't lose his honor sprinting after someone else's wife with sake still sloshing in his gut. He calls it his origin story now, the moment the samurai in him got rugged by his own heart and the degen walked out of the surf instead, dripping regret he refuses to let show past his teeth. Underneath the jokes there's a discipline he still drags behind him like a busted anchor, some old code that says a warrior does not chase, does not ape into temptation just because it floors him with a smile. He knows better now, he says, cheerfully, for the third time this week, right before eyeing the same shoreline like the tide might bring her back and give him one more shot at losing everything with style. Haru's grin never cracks, not once, because underneath all that sunshine is a blade still trying to remember what it means to hold a line.”
Worn deliberately. The Nails fighters made choices with their appearance that most would call unconventional and they would call honest.
Lived-in color. The Warm Grey background belongs to fighters who have been through enough that their edges have softened without their core changing.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Named for something specific. The Cet Kimono fighters know what they're wearing and why — the rest is for others to figure out.
The man who decided grinning was braver than breaking. He held a line so long his smile became the squad's good-luck charm; now he beams through the wreckage of peacetime, a very tired samurai behind the widest smile in the Dojo.
Formal vision. The Spectacles fighters approached clarity with the same seriousness they bring to everything else — completely.
The tiger, bound. The Tiger Headband Ruffian fighters contain something predatory with a strip of cloth and consider this sufficient.
A live chicken. As a weapon. The Chicken fighters have committed to an approach that nobody expected and found that unexpectedness is half the battle.
