Diary
Cheery Haru still grins the way a temple bell rings, loud, bright, meant to be heard over anything, even the day a stranger screamed in his face amid the shoving crowds of Kabukicho and something in his ronin spine quietly buckled. He laughed it off right there on the pavement, waved like it was nothing, bought a can of chuhai to celebrate surviving eye contact, and told himself the old bushido nerve was just on a smoke break. Now he struts the dojo halls chirping about discipline, offering to teach fellow degens the ancient art of standing your ground, though everyone's noticed he teaches from behind the vending machine whenever voices get loud. His lesson plans are pure sunshine: breathing exercises, positive affirmations, a slide titled 'Fear Is Just Ngmi Energy,' all delivered with a smile so relentless it could paper over a rug pull. Underneath the grin, though, something iron still waits, patient, bruised, hoping one day the lesson finally sticks for him too.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
The hour when most give up. The Blue Evening fighters are still at their desk, still watching the chart, still holding.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Still learning. The Student Gi fighters are the most dangerous in the Dojo — they have no habits yet, no fixed patterns, no ceiling.
The man who decided grinning was braver than breaking. He held a line so long his smile became the squad's good-luck charm; now he beams through the wreckage of peacetime, a very tired samurai behind the widest smile in the Dojo.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Clean but rough. The White Ruffian fighters look like they could have behaved properly and chose not to. The white makes the choice more visible.
Patience as weapon. The Noose fighters don't rush — they set the conditions and wait for the opponent to walk into them.
