Diary
Once Azuma's hunger had a name and a purpose, honed on the training floor where a samurai's appetite was for discipline, for the perfect strike, for glory earned in silence. Now that same hunger just roars, undignified and loud, aimed at whatever's in front of him, and on the night in question it was aimed at a fat joint he and Raiku were passing back and forth on the dojo roof like two ronin toasting the end of the world. Azuma, never one to take a modest hit when a gluttonous one was available, inhaled like he was trying to ape the whole bag in a single candle, and somewhere between the third pass and the fourth he caught something off Raiku's mouth that no sword could parry and no floor price could rug-pull away. He spent the next week humbled, sweating, and swearing off shared blunts forever, a vow he broke exactly nine hours later when Raiku rolled up another one. The old masters would call it a lesson in restraint; Azuma calls it Tuesday, and reaches for seconds anyway.
Not contacts. Not paint. Something older. The Shaman Eyes fighters see through the collection at a frequency others can't access, and they've been doing it since before the derug.
Hidden in plain sight. The Night Forest fighters do most of their work in the dark — not secretively, but quietly. They don't need an audience.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Wore everything out. The Dirty Peasant Rags fighters have been in the Dojo so long that newness has become impossible — everything they own carries the evidence.
'Azuma' — east, the rising sun. Once a warrior whose hunger for the fight rose every morning: first over the wall, last off the field. Peacetime left the hunger nowhere to go.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Practical and armed. The Hair Bun With Chopsticks fighters put utensils in their hair and call it hair care — the dual function is not accidental.
War god's spear. Divine reach. The Bishamon Yari fighters have authorization from something older than the Dojo.
