Drooling Azuma trained for that duel the way he trains for everything now, half a joint deep and fully convinced the universe owed him a highlight reel, and when the moment came against Haruto he aped in like it was a hundred-x meme coin instead of a measured strike. His palm hit the dirt a half-second before his blade found its mark, disqualified by the oldest rule in the book, the one about staying on your feet, the one his old sensei drilled into him a thousand lifetimes ago before the wars ended and his discipline got rugged out from under him. He lay there in the dust laughing anyway, big and loud and undignified, already tasting the next feast, the next fight, the next floor he'd inevitably buy above. Somewhere deep down the old samurai in him winced at the wasted honor, but the hungry degen on top just licked his lips and hollered that better days, bigger plays, and much better snacks were still out there waiting for him. He dusted himself off, spat once for ceremony, and swore this next shot at glory he'd actually stay standing, a promise he fully intended to break beautifully.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
