Once Azuma's blade answered for him; now it's his mouth, and in the Meiji Jungle it answered LOUD, a full-lunged bellow hurled at a squad of ninjas just trying to vanish in peace, blowing their cover and his last shred of honor in one greedy exhale. He hadn't meant disrespect, he swears, he was just hyped, three cups of sake deep and starving for a war that ended before his appetite did, so he did what he always does when the silence gets too loud: he ate it, screamed right through it. The ninjas scattered, insulted and unseen no more, and somewhere in the underbrush his old sensei's ghost added another tally mark to the ledger of Azuma's shame. He came home vowing, loudly of course, to be a better man, quieter, leaner, more disciplined, a vow he has already re-sworn six times this week between bong rips and shouting his own name at the mirror to hype himself up. Drooling Azuma remains gloriously undignified, forever aped into the next big swing, forever losing the one fight that matters, the fight to just shut up and sit still.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Paper screens at night. The Shoji Night fighters were born in the quiet hours, when the market sleeps and only the committed are still at their screens.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The red Oni rages where the blue Oni waits. The Red Oni Tattoo fighters run hot and they are at peace with this.
'Azuma' — east, the rising sun. Once a warrior whose hunger for the fight rose every morning: first over the wall, last off the field. Peacetime left the hunger nowhere to go.

Named for sensation. The Splitting Axe Ache fighters' hair is named for how their opponents feel after they're done.
