Diary
Fatty Bobsticks will tell you, loudly and often, that he is not Fat Bob's shadow, he is Fat Bob's sequel, bigger poster, better tagline, and he proved it on Degens Path by mouthing off to a passing samurai like a man with two working elbows and zero shame. The insult was, by his own account, legendary, something about the samurai's topknot looking like a rugged floor chart, and the samurai's response was a single unhurried motion that turned Fatty's elbow into modern art. He went down laughing, then screaming, then laughing again, because that is the Bobsticks brand, chaos with a highlight reel. In the months since he has trained the memory itself into submission, meditating each morning with a joint and a promise to remember the lesson of restraint, only to forget both the lesson and the promise by lunchtime. Ask him about it now and he grins through the wince, insists the elbow was always crooked, insists he is his own man, and insists, loudest of all, that Fat Bob never would have talked that much trash to a man holding a sword.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Neither dark nor white. The Light Grey background belongs to fighters who operate in the space between certainties and have made it comfortable there.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Half the statement. The Skull Sleeve fighters communicate their philosophy in one arm — the other arm is for whatever needs doing next.
He exists in Fat Bob's extended universe — related, distinct, and absolutely exhausted by the comparison. Same build, same laugh, different problems. Do not, he begs you, get them confused.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Movement made permanent. The Long Flowing fighters trail behind themselves in every room they enter — the hair arrives first, then the fighter.
Direct. No ambiguity. The Axe fighters made a decision about what kind of fighter they are and the axe confirms it every time.
