Diary
Fatty Bobsticks will tell you, loudly and often, that he is nothing like Fat Bob, thank you very much, even as he orders the same shochu his old man's ghost used to drown discipline in. Word around the dojo is he stood one lantern's flicker away from the shogunate itself, robes practically pressed, until he wandered into the red light district and mouthed off to a samurai twice his size over a card game gone sideways. That insult, delivered with the same puffed-chest bravado he now uses to deny any resemblance to his predecessor, cost him the throne, the title, and most of his dignity in one glorious sentence. He swears he is training again starting tomorrow, katas at dawn, no more shochu, no more mouth, and yet somehow ends up back in that same district by dusk, bragging to strangers about the shogun he almost was. He has never felt better, he insists, shadow of Fat Bob be damned, even as he trips over the very floor he keeps claiming he never got rugged from.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Royalty that refused the crown. The Purple Night backgrounds belong to fighters who could have been somewhere easier and chose not to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Left the order. Didn't stop fighting. The Dejen Apostate fighters broke from whatever school trained them and found that the training stayed anyway.
He exists in Fat Bob's extended universe — related, distinct, and absolutely exhausted by the comparison. Same build, same laugh, different problems. Do not, he begs you, get them confused.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Not metaphorical. Someone's leg bone, spiked. The Spiky Femur fighters have been here long enough that the bones of their enemies are now equipment.
