Diary
Fatty Bobsticks will tell anyone who asks, and several who don't, that he is nothing like Fat Bob, thank you very much, even as he stood in his mother's living room mid vow, geisha veil trembling, and put a blade through a monkey that had absolutely wronged him first. The old samurai code says a warrior meets chaos with stillness; Fatty met it with a wedding knife and a scream that rattled his mum's good china, which honestly feels like its own kind of discipline if you squint. He tells the shadow of Fat Bob, hovering judgmental in every mirror, that a real man owns his mess, and Fatty owns his completely, receipts and all, mum's carpet included. Since that day he drifts the block a broken man, still in half a wedding suit, swearing this week he'll meditate, swearing he'll stop aping into chaos he could've dodged, and losing that fight before breakfast every single time. But he's his own disaster, he'll remind you, gesturing at the monkey shaped hole in his life, not a rerun of anybody, thank you very much.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Paper screens at night. The Shoji Night fighters were born in the quiet hours, when the market sleeps and only the committed are still at their screens.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Blessed by the Dojo's own rites. The Ordained Dejen fighters carry something that can't be revoked — the Dojo recognized them and that recognition is permanent.
He exists in Fat Bob's extended universe — related, distinct, and absolutely exhausted by the comparison. Same build, same laugh, different problems. Do not, he begs you, get them confused.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Practical. Focused. The Hair Bun fighters pulled back what was in their eyes so they could see the whole board.
Used and not cleaned. The Bloody Nunchucks fighters are efficient — cleaning was someone else's job and they had the next fight to prepare for.
