Goro was the youngest of his dojo brothers, and youngest sons learn early that patience is the only weapon nobody can rug you of, so he built his whole discipline around waiting, waiting for orders, waiting for openings, waiting for the world to finish talking before he ever moved. But somewhere between the last war ending and the noodle house filling with regulars who never tip, that patience frayed thin as broth, and one ordinary night it just gave out, obscenities spilling from him at the women behind the counter like a floor price cratering with no bids left to catch it. He sat outside after, shaking, ashamed, a man who once held his breath through whole ambushes now unable to hold his tongue through a bad soup order. Watching the steam rise off his abandoned bowl, he wondered what future waits for a samurai who can out-wait a general but not a Tuesday, and figured the only answer left was to go quiet again and hope the next silence outlasts the one that broke him.
Sober, unlike the drunk variant. The Lizard fighters have a companion with excellent judgment who never asks for anything and always seems to know when to leave.
Neither dark nor white. The Light Grey background belongs to fighters who operate in the space between certainties and have made it comfortable there.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Not a garment — a record. The Battle Scars clothing is what's left after everything else was stripped away. These fighters wear their history.
'Goro' — fifth son, who learns early the world won't wait, so he'd better learn to wait for it. Patience was his whole art: the one who held position long after holding stopped making sense.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Organization meets chaos. The Yakuza Hooligan fighters have discipline from one tradition and abandon from another, and they've combined them into something entirely their own.
Repurposed. Made for the earth, used for the fight. The Farmers Hoe fighters don't distinguish between cultivation and combat.
