Diary
Goro was the youngest of five swords in his father's dojo, and so he learned before anyone else that the world rewards the one who waits. He waited through wars, through masters dying, through the slow rot of the code he once bowed to every dawn, and when the wars ended he found himself waiting outside a lantern-lit door in the red light district instead of a temple gate. There he spoke with Masumi for three unhurried hours, patient as ever, while his reputation quietly packed its bags and left through the back window. The elders clucked, the gossip spread faster than any blade he'd ever drawn, and still Goro sat there afterward with his tea going cold, wearing the small, satisfied stillness of a man who has finally found something worth losing his good name for. He tells himself tomorrow he'll return to discipline, to stillness with a purpose again, but tomorrow, like every other tomorrow, can simply wait its turn.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Unclear until it clears. The Grey Mist backgrounds belong to fighters who operate where others can't see, and use that fog as their advantage.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Named for something specific. The Cet Kimono fighters know what they're wearing and why — the rest is for others to figure out.
'Goro' — fifth son, who learns early the world won't wait, so he'd better learn to wait for it. Patience was his whole art: the one who held position long after holding stopped making sense.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Clean but rough. The White Ruffian fighters look like they could have behaved properly and chose not to. The white makes the choice more visible.
The other fish weapon. The Dead Fish fighters use something that smells like loss as a weapon — opponents are too confused to defend properly.
