Igor The Bear does not move quickly, not for enemies, not for weather, not even for pain, so when he finally decides to rip his kimono off in front of the shoji doors like some old ritual he half remembers from a dojo that no longer exists, he does it with the terrible, unstoppable slowness of a landslide deciding to happen. The silk catches on both nipples on the way down and by the time the fabric hits the floor he is bleeding a little, standing there bare chested and dead serious in front of the paper doors like a statue somebody forgot to varnish. He tells himself this is discipline, this is the old code, a samurai reclaiming his shape after too many seasons of weed, sake, and staring at a green candle chart that never once respected his stop loss. The dojo elders used to bow to men who could sit still for hours; now Igor just stands there dripping, jaw set, informing the empty hallway that his reputation will be earned back one slow, bloody, badly executed ritual at a time. Nobody claps, the shoji doors do not open, and Igor, immovable as ever, simply waits for the sting to become a lesson, because quitting was never in his weight class.
Heavier than gold. Less prestigious. More honest. The Iron Earring fighters chose function over signal and consider that to be the signal.
Unclear until it clears. The Grey Mist backgrounds belong to fighters who operate where others can't see, and use that fog as their advantage.
