Igor The Bear does not rush anything, not breakfast, not grudges, not the slow geological drift of his fist toward Botan's jaw inside the Degen Dojo. Somewhere beneath the gut and the three-day whiskey haze, the old bushido code still creaks like a floorboard, asking him in a voice he mostly ignores whether honor lives in a knockout or dies in one. He chews on the question the way he chews on everything, without hurry, and by the time he's swallowed it Botan is already horizontal on the mats. Igor stands over him, breathing slow as a mountain settling, and decides that honor, discipline, and self-respect are three fine ideas he will get right back to practicing tomorrow. Tonight he is simply, hugely, unbothered pleased with himself, and no ronin's ghost is going to talk him out of it.”
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
