Diary
Before the ache, before the vice, Igor The Bear held a stance at Fushimi shrine that no wind could move, ten thousand red gates watching a man who did not bend. Then the tooth started throbbing, and Igor, being Igor, did not seek a healer, he sought a solution with his own thick fingers and less patience than a bear should have. The pulling took three days, mostly because he kept stopping to nap, and by the end the pain had folded him down onto the shrine steps like a mountain deciding to sit for once. He tells fighters now that discipline is a tooth you keep yanking at wrong, and every dojo morning he swears he will meditate at dawn, then the sun climbs high and finds him still horizontal, unmoved, unbothered, technically wiser. Igor does not floor easily and he does not learn quickly either, but he learned this: pain leaves eventually, and so, apparently, do teeth.”
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Military patience. The Olive Green fighters do not announce themselves. They wait. Then they move.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
No fixed allegiance. The Mercenary fighters fight for whoever offers the right terms and have never lost a battle when those terms were met.
Built like a landslide — weight, physical and otherwise, the kind that can't be lifted, only rolled. In the wars you pointed him at a problem; now the stillness is the problem.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Time made visible, flowing. Flowing Dreads fighters carry their history in motion — every lock a year, and the years are moving now.
The other fish weapon. The Dead Fish fighters use something that smells like loss as a weapon — opponents are too confused to defend properly.
