Diary
Lovey Haruto once carried his blade the way a monk carries silence, but somewhere along Degens Path he traded that silence for a bottle shared with The English Pilot, and one drink of politeness became a whole apprenticeship in ruin. He never learned to say no, not because he was weak, but because kindness had always been his weapon and he could not bear to wound even a stranger's offer of sake. Now he greets every hungover morning like it owes him nothing, smiling at the wreckage of the night before with the same warmth he once gave defeated enemies, and he tells himself, sincerely, that today will be the day of discipline restored. It never quite is, of course, his resolve dissolving somewhere between breakfast and the first friendly toast of noon, yet he keeps rebuilding it anyway, one gentle, doomed day at a time. There is something almost noble in how badly he fails, the last honest samurai trying to swordfight a hangover with nothing but good manners and a warm heart.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Neither dark nor white. The Light Grey background belongs to fighters who operate in the space between certainties and have made it comfortable there.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Grew things before they fought things. The Farmer clothing is the clearest record of what a fighter was before the Dojo changed them.
'Haruto' — warm person. He fights with something that looks like kindness, until you realize kindness done right is the hardest discipline of all, and he never stops choosing it.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Time made visible, flowing. Flowing Dreads fighters carry their history in motion — every lock a year, and the years are moving now.
Not metaphorical. Someone's leg bone, spiked. The Spiky Femur fighters have been here long enough that the bones of their enemies are now equipment.
