Diary
Lovey Haruto still bows to strangers before he ruins their whole night, and that night at the Hidden Teahouse was no different, he smiled at the man across from Ikari the way you'd smile at an old friend right before the steel came out. Folks forget that gentle hands remember every kata a war ever taught them, and when Ikari's temper finally boiled over the table, Lovey moved not out of rage but out of something almost tender, a last mercy dressed up as violence. He tried, after, to feel the old samurai guilt they warn you about in every dojo scroll, tried to fast, to meditate, to swear off the sake and the late-night blackjack at the floor-price tables, and made it exactly one evening before he was aped into another hand of cards with a smile that could disarm a demon. He regrets nothing about the teahouse, not the blood on the tatami, not the silence after, only that discipline keeps rugging him the second he reaches for it. Still, he pours tea for anyone who sits near him, kindness sharpened into a blade nobody sees coming until it's already too late, and somehow that's the most honest thing left of the warrior he used to be.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Between midday and dusk. The Orange Afternoon fighters are in the middle of something — not finished, not starting, exactly where they need to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Maximum exposure by choice. The Nudey Freak fighters are not unclothed by accident — they made a considered decision and stand by it in all weather.
'Haruto' — warm person. He fights with something that looks like kindness, until you realize kindness done right is the hardest discipline of all, and he never stops choosing it.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Ancient discipline, modern retention. The Braided Samurai Ponytail fighters maintain something traditional precisely because the world keeps trying to make them let it go.
Not metaphorical. Someone's leg bone, spiked. The Spiky Femur fighters have been here long enough that the bones of their enemies are now equipment.
