Diary
Lovey Haruto arrived at the Tsukiji fish market before dawn, katana wrapped in a furoshiki cloth like a gift, fully intending to challenge the dojo master to a duel of pure discipline and honor. Instead he was swarmed by a ring of degens hawking rugged NFTs off wet cardboard tables, and within minutes he was hugging three strangers, complimenting a tuna vendor's grip strength, and buying rounds of canned chuhai for men who had just tried to pickpocket him. The dojo master watched from behind a crate of eels, bemused, as the challenge dissolved into Haruto teaching a pack of hungover ronin how to bow properly to the fishmongers who fed them. He left without a single blow exchanged, floor price of his pride still intact somehow, and told everyone he now plans to write a book on gentleness as a martial art. He has written four sentences of it so far, all crossed out, because he keeps stopping to go check if the eel guy is doing okay.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Neither dark nor white. The Light Grey background belongs to fighters who operate in the space between certainties and have made it comfortable there.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The standard-bearer. The Proud Dejen Kimono fighters represent the collection consciously — they know what they're part of and they dress accordingly.
'Haruto' — warm person. He fights with something that looks like kindness, until you realize kindness done right is the hardest discipline of all, and he never stops choosing it.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
The tiger, bound. The Tiger Headband Ruffian fighters contain something predatory with a strip of cloth and consider this sufficient.
Made for documentation, used for combat. The Paintbrush fighters record and act simultaneously — every fight is also a portrait.
