Lovey Haruto used to believe a blade could keep the peace, back when he wore his discipline like armor instead of a punchline, but these days his only weapon is the soft, unnerving kindness he hands out like flowers at a funeral nobody asked for. He was sitting in the dim corner of the whorehouse, half lost in memories of dojo mornings and tea ceremonies that no longer exist, when a stranger's hand found him uninvited and reminded him exactly how far he'd drifted from that quiet, honorable boy. He didn't yell, didn't reach for steel, just smiled that terrifyingly gentle smile of his and said something so warm the room went awkwardly silent, disarming the whole moment the way only Lovey could. Underneath the calm, though, something old and tired in him ached for simplicity again, for silence that isn't bought by the hour. So now he says he's chasing a quieter life, sober mornings, fewer vices, less chaos, and everyone who knows him just nods, because they've watched him lose that particular fight a hundred times already, always with a smile.
