Masumi Steel never could resist a jab, so of course the loudest thing under that bridge wasn't the river, it was his own mouth running wild at a samurai who did not appreciate the commentary on his stance, his blade, or his mother's cooking. One flat-palmed shove into the mud later, Masumi's dignity floated downstream faster than his sandals, and he came up laughing because what else do you do when you've just been rugged by a man with better manners and a sharper sword. These days he swears he's chasing a quieter life, meditation, tea, maybe even sleeping before noon, but he keeps needling strangers into duels just to feel something, then bluffs his way out with a grin when it goes sideways. His idea of discipline is promising himself one drink, one hand of cards, one bridge he won't run his mouth under, and losing that bet every single time. Still, ask him and he'll tell you the quiet life is coming along great, mostly because he's too broke and too amused to admit otherwise.
