Diary
Oleg Of War used to command a room with a glance, a katana-sharp calm that once ended wars before they started. Then he climbed Misty Mountain to break bread with BBQ Ben, a man who treats brisket like scripture and confidence like an appetizer, and somewhere between the third rack of ribs and the fourth suspiciously strong sake pour, Oleg's swagger got aped into the void, floor price zero, no refunds. He tells people he meditated on the mountain that night, found some higher truth in the smoke curling off the grill, but really he just sat there getting rugged by a man in a stained apron who never once apologized for anything, which honestly Oleg respected. He still tries, every so often, to summon back the disciplined blade he used to be, straightens his spine, breathes like the old scrolls taught him, then someone offers him weed and a rematch with Ben's ribs and the samurai dissolves into the degenerate all over again. Oleg calls it freedom now, shrugs when anyone brings up the old confidence, no comment, no apology, just a man fully unshackled and fully unbothered on a misty mountain that keeps his secrets better than he keeps his composure.
A paper earring from the Dojo itself. Fragile. Replaceable. The fighters who wear them understand that what looks disposable can last forever.
Neither dark nor white. The Light Grey background belongs to fighters who operate in the space between certainties and have made it comfortable there.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The blue Oni does not rage. The blue Oni waits. The Blue Oni Tattoo fighters are the calmest ones in the room — which makes them the most dangerous.
War in the name and war in the deed. Read the other fighters' stories closely and Oleg keeps turning up — always as the one who ruined the moment, corrupted the innocent, lit the match.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Aged. Sharp. The Short Spiky Grey fighters have been here long enough for color to leave — and found that what remained is more pointed than before.
A rat. Named. With opinions. Mr. Rumi The Rat is a familiar, a co-combatant, and probably the one with the plan. The fighter is the muscle.
