Shitless Botan once commanded a Yakuza clan with the calm of a man who'd already made peace with death, the kind of boss who could stare down a blade without blinking because somewhere along the way the fear nerve had simply been snipped out of him. Then the empire dissolved into paperwork and pachinko debts, and Botan drifted to the local shrine not to pray but to commit an act so relentlessly, gloriously shameless that the monks started ringing the bell early just to drown him out. He says it plainly, no flinch, no shame dressing itself up as apology, because a man without fear has no use for embarrassment either. Now he claims he's writing a book, memoirs of discipline and honor, though the only pages filled so far are receipts from the shrine's gift shop and a napkin that reads
