TOKUDA FOUGHT FOR GLORY IN THE DOJO LATRINES, and let the record show he considers this the finest campaign of his career, banners be damned. Once he stood in formation reciting the Bushido like scripture; now he stands over a clogged trench howling battle cries at a stubborn floor drain like it owes him yen. The other fighters ran, gagging, but Tokuda planted his feet, roared "MOVE, COWARD PIPE!" and somewhere between the stench and the shouting he found something suspiciously like satisfaction, maybe even enlightenment, though he'll never admit a bathroom humbled him more than any war did. He tried, briefly, to rebuild discipline after that, some quiet meditation, some deep breathing, but it lasted four minutes before he was bellowing at a vending machine that ate his coin. Still, he grins with broken teeth and looks forward to better days, because a man who can find glory in a latrine can survive absolutely anything the Dojo throws at him next.
