Young Yuji never got the war he wanted, so he went looking for one on the crowded neon stretch of Dogenzaka, throwing hands like the whole night owed him a legacy. He aped into that fight for nothing but glory, chasing a feeling he swears he had once, back when his hands still knew what discipline felt like, and when the dust and the drunks cleared he found his faith rugged clean off him, floor price zero. Now he struts the block like a proud man, chin up, chest out, sleepless eyes scanning every alley for a rematch that already left town years ago. He tells himself real bushido is one good night's sleep away, then rolls a joint and calls it meditation, laughing at himself the whole time. The kid the war ended too soon for is still out there swinging at ghosts, certain the next brawl is the one that finally gives him back what he lost.
