Young Yuji was supposed to be a legend by now, or at least that's what he told the cherry blossoms at Mount Koriyoka while he trimmed them into neat little piles, a punishment assignment he turned into a shrine for a war that had the nerve to end without him. He still can't sleep past 3am, still wakes up swinging at ghosts of glory that packed up and left before he ever got his shot, so now he just wanders the barracks half lit, muttering about the dojo he's gonna build someday, his dojo, where discipline actually sticks.
