Diary
Young Yuji was too young for the last war and too restless for the peace that followed, so he built his own battlefield out of dice and borrowed yen inside the Dojo's back room, chasing a glory that had already packed up and left without him. Three sleepless nights later his savings were gone, folded into other men's pockets, and he sat blinking at the dawn like a soldier who'd lost a war nobody declared. He swore, the way degens always swear, that he'd claw back discipline, waking at dawn to swing his bokken at shadows before the shakes in his hands proved stronger than his resolve and sent him wandering back toward the tables by noon. What stung worse than the loss was the company he'd kept, the grinning vultures who cheered his ruin like it was sport, and Yuji decided somewhere in that fog that his next campaign wouldn't be for coin but for better friends, ones who might actually help him stand instead of watching him fall. He hasn't found them yet, but he's still out there most nights, sleepless and stubborn, swinging at ghosts and telling himself this is the last flame.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Military patience. The Olive Green fighters do not announce themselves. They wait. Then they move.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The name is the lore. The Poop Pride Kimono fighters have transcended embarrassment so completely that they wear the proof. Undefeated.
Still becoming, and always will be — the wars ended before he got to finish. All promise and no scars, certain his great chapter was over the next hill. The hill turned out to be the last one.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
After. The Messy fighters' hair tells you what happened — not what they planned, but what they went through.
Used and not cleaned. The Bloody Nunchucks fighters are efficient — cleaning was someone else's job and they had the next fight to prepare for.
