Diary
The boar had rooted up the moss garden at dawn, and Yuuki approached it the way old samurai once approached the wars that made them, with a calm he no longer trusted himself to have earned. He drew his blade slow, the way his sensei taught before sensei traded his own katana for a rice cooker and a losing streak at the tables, and he told the boar, quietly, that this was not personal, only garden maintenance. The fight lasted four seconds and cost him one sandal and a great deal of dignity, but the boar lost considerably more, and Yuuki stood over it afterward feeling the strange, hollow wisdom of a man who has just remembered he still knows how to finish something he starts. He logged it in his head as a true victory, filed somewhere between beating his gambling debt and beating his weed tolerance, two ongoing wars he keeps losing with the same steady wryness. That night he meditated on discipline for exactly ninety seconds before reaching for the sake, wiser, he insists, though not yet reformed.
Heavy. Deliberate. The Gold Earring fighters wear their conviction in precious metal on the outside so everyone knows before they speak.
Paper screens at night. The Shoji Night fighters were born in the quiet hours, when the market sleeps and only the committed are still at their screens.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Ritual clothing for someone who crossed between worlds. The Bird Shaman fighters dress for the journey they're already on, not the destination.
'Yuuki' means courage, earned the plain way: by stepping forward on the mornings every sane part of him voted to step back. Bravery, for him, was a decision made fresh each day.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
The Dojo's samurai. The Dejen Samurai fighters carry the warrior tradition through the collection's own lens — ancient code, contemporary context.
The ninja's tool. Small, fast, plural. The Kunai fighters think in multiples — one is never the plan.
