Diary
They called him Akuma back when the war still had a front line, and he never bothered correcting anyone since the name fit like a second skin soaked in someone else's blood. At the Dojo Towers he led a pack of bandits up through the scaffolding for reasons that felt important at the time, and when the dust settled one man lay still and Akuma stood over him feeling nothing but a familiar, ugly calm. He tells himself now he wants quiet, a small room, a garden, maybe some good weed and silence, the kind of discipline his old sensei used to preach about breathing and stillness. But quiet keeps rugging him the moment he sits still, some old instinct twitching toward violence like a floor price twitching toward zero, and he ends up pacing instead of meditating, laughing darkly at how a demon can't even fake being a monk for one afternoon. Still he tries, every single day, because even devils get tired of the reputation they built with their own hands.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Paper screens at night. The Shoji Night fighters were born in the quiet hours, when the market sleeps and only the committed are still at their screens.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Cold and precise. The Blue Warrior Kimono fighters arrived dressed for a specific kind of fight — the one they had already decided how to win.
'Akuma' means devil, a name he didn't choose. The survivors needed a word bigger than soldier for what he did on the field, and it stuck.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Heavy. Absolute. The Black Iron Kabuto fighters chose protection over style and discovered that in the Dojo, this IS style.
Not metaphorical. Someone's leg bone, spiked. The Spiky Femur fighters have been here long enough that the bones of their enemies are now equipment.
