Diary
They named him Akuma back when he still carried a blade with honor, and now he wears the name like a brand, half curse and half punchline he tells on himself. At the foot of Mount Fuji he set up shop not with steel but with rumor, whispering half truths into ronin ears for a cut of their sake money, and the mountain apparently keeps receipts because the gossip came back to him as a nasty, itching disease he refuses to name in polite company. He sat there scratching in the snowmelt shadow of that sacred peak and had what he calls his enlightenment, a solemn vow carved into his own black heart to be a better man, to stop trading in poison words and start walking the old disciplined path again. Everyone who has met him knows how that vow is going, because within a week he was back at it, this time gossiping about his own disease to anyone who'd listen, laughing that demonic laugh at his own rot. Akuma will tell you himself, darkly amused, that some devils get named early for a reason, and Fuji just reminded him which one he is.”
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Hidden in plain sight. The Night Forest fighters do most of their work in the dark — not secretively, but quietly. They don't need an audience.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Unglamorous and honest. The Black Peasant Sack fighters didn't dress for anyone else. They dressed for function and found that function is its own statement.
'Akuma' means devil, a name he didn't choose. The survivors needed a word bigger than soldier for what he did on the field, and it stuck.
Still wearing them. The Bloodied Glasses fighters need nothing to be clean to keep seeing clearly.
Elevated tradition. The High Straw Rice Hat fighters dress high above their own heads — everything they do is reaching upward.
The poisonous pufferfish as a weapon. The Frightened Fugu fighters chose something lethal that looks absurd — and find that this is the most accurate description of themselves.
