Diary
They called him Akuma back when the battlefield still smelled like iron and incense, a name earned in silence, in the way men flinched before his blade ever moved. Now the only flinching happens at the felt table inside the Dojo, where he pushed every last coin of his savings into the pot just to watch his charisma stat climb like it was some kind of holy technique. He tells himself it is strategy, the same cold calculation that once broke enemy lines, but the truth grins back at him from the bottom of an empty sake cup. Discipline was supposed to be the one thing the war couldn't take from him, and yet here he sits, demon of a hundred campaigns, rugged by his own hand for a leaderboard flex and a laugh from the other degenerates. Akuma allows himself a slow, knowing smile at the wreckage, because a man who has stared down death learns to find dark comedy in ruin, and lives, like always, one cursed day at a time.
Whose bones? The fighter who wears them knows. They're not saying. The Finger Bones fighters operate on a level of commitment that most find uncomfortable.
Between midday and dusk. The Orange Afternoon fighters are in the middle of something — not finished, not starting, exactly where they need to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Organization ink made visible. The Black Yakuza Sleeves fighters belong to something — a code, a history — and they advertise their membership without speaking.
'Akuma' means devil, a name he didn't choose. The survivors needed a word bigger than soldier for what he did on the field, and it stuck.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Practical and armed. The Hair Bun With Chopsticks fighters put utensils in their hair and call it hair care — the dual function is not accidental.
Heavy, ceramic, purpose-built for one thing and used for another. The Giant Sake Bottle fighters are creative about their arsenal.
