They called him Akuma back when the name meant something, back when generals flinched at the mist rolling off his blade before the sun even cleared the ridgeline. Ambition was his whole religion then, a temple he built himself, brick by bloody brick, and he meant to keep building it forever. Then came a fog-choked morning with Legless Tom, a jug of something that tasted like regret, and a promise to just have one drink before the ceremony, which of course became four, which of course became the ceremony never happening at all. Akuma still tries, every so often, to claw back that old discipline, waking at dawn to meditate, only to find the incense has been swapped for a joint and the silence filled with Tom's wheezing laughter from the floor. He wears the demon name honestly now, not for the war he won but for the war against his own worst mornings, one he keeps losing with a grin that unsettles even himself.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
The hour when most give up. The Blue Evening fighters are still at their desk, still watching the chart, still holding.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Named for something specific. The Cet Kimono fighters know what they're wearing and why — the rest is for others to figure out.
'Akuma' means devil, a name he didn't choose. The survivors needed a word bigger than soldier for what he did on the field, and it stuck.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Extinct power, still present. The Sabertooth Skull fighters wear something that doesn't exist anymore — which means they carry it forward.
The other fish weapon. The Dead Fish fighters use something that smells like loss as a weapon — opponents are too confused to defend properly.
