They named him Akuma in the war because the enemy needed a word for what came through the smoke without blinking, and he has spent every peaceful year since trying to live down to it. On sparring day he locked eyes with Oleg across the ring, two demons sizing up whose stare would break first, and somewhere behind him a lighter-fingered degenerate walked off with his entire bankroll like a ghost with a shopping list. He noticed. He always notices. But a true devil does not chase paper when there is a soul to unsettle, so he let the thief run and kept his gaze bolted to Oleg until the bigger man's confidence curdled into doubt. Akuma calls it a fair trade, wallet for fear, and insists the old discipline of the dojo would be proud of the exchange rate, though the ledger in his head knows discipline never once approved of losing money on purpose. He regrets nothing, mostly because regret requires a heart softer than the one currently smirking behind his mask.
Heavy. Deliberate. The Gold Earring fighters wear their conviction in precious metal on the outside so everyone knows before they speak.
Neither dark nor white. The Light Grey background belongs to fighters who operate in the space between certainties and have made it comfortable there.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Memento mori made fashionable. The Skull Kimono fighters remember what's at stake and wear the reminder so they never forget.
'Akuma' means devil, a name he didn't choose. The survivors needed a word bigger than soldier for what he did on the field, and it stuck.
Formal vision. The Spectacles fighters approached clarity with the same seriousness they bring to everything else — completely.
The tiger, bound. The Tiger Headband Ruffian fighters contain something predatory with a strip of cloth and consider this sufficient.
